Of course my site contains my own Tolkien fan fiction, of which there is a great deal online of varying quality (although I like to imagine my own attempts are creditable). But if I had an education in film production, I would be strongly tempted to try my hand at Tolkien fan films. These have been a fixture on YouTube for many years, and some such as The Hunt for Gollum (2009) have become legendary. With the explosion in AI over the past few years, it seems the barriers to entry to making such film are lower than ever, although that might well have predictable consequences for their quality as well…what are your views of these fan film original stories and adaptations, and where things might go from here?
